Before we share our favorites from this awesome adventure session….a little back story. After driving across the country in our van in March, spending months in the the dry Arizona desert, and camping out in Utah and the Central Valley…it was time to see some water again. In all that time, we hadn’t even seen as much as a raindrop. As we approached the Pacific, the ocean felt more like a mirage in the distance than reality…but we made it! Much of June was spent driving up the coast, working by the ocean and exploring some bucket list areas.
Taylor & Matt joined us one night for a sunny evening exploring a true gem along the California coast. Something about adventure sessions like this leave us feeling so inspired creatively. We love low-key adventures where we can just chat, explore and have fun with the evening. The night started in a small cove with the coolest rock formations. After exploring there for a bit, we climbed back up to catch the views of the same cove from up above. From there, a walking path (more like an old rail trail), took us to another stunning and totally empty beach. Nothing can top a west coast sunset, so we found ourselves running around and soaking up every last ray of light from there.
Some general tips for west coast adventure sessions: Check the tides charts, wear comfortable clothes to run around in the sand or climb on rocks, and don’t be afraid to get your feet wet.
