Overland Elopements

Coastal Maine Adventure Elopement

July 1, 2021

Hi! We're Anna and Trevor.

We're a fun (and maybe a little dorky) couple of elopement photographers, traveling all over the country to help people get married in the most beautiful places mother nature has to offer.

We thrive with cameras in hand, and nothing resonates with us more than the intimacy & freedom of an elopement. We get that big events and old school traditions aren't for everyone, and that's totally cool! We're all about embracing our uniqueness and throwing tradition out the window.

We met Leah & Brandon at the eastern most point in the country for this beautiful Maine elopement session. There was no one else around when they had their first look and then explored the most beautiful stretch of Maine coastline ever. This park is so far northeast. Our phones actually switched to the Atlantic time zone and I received a “Welcome to Canada” text from my carrier, which served as a reminder of just how far out of the way we had ventured.

They exchanged some sweet words on a totally private rocky beach and enjoyed a picnic together overlooking the water. Everything was so lush, so untouched, and so peaceful. We had the mossy forests, rocky coast and some of the most diverse plantlife all to ourselves.

We all know Acadia National Park is iconic, and that Portland is full of great New England vibes, but I encourage anyone considering eloping in Maine to look for somewhere that will allow you to enjoy a quiet moment throughout the day. For Maine elopements, my advice is to consider a location a little further out of the way, or plan to elope before peak season.

The east coast sometimes gets a bad rep for having parks that are more crowded and less “impressive” than their western siblings. I was guilty of having the same feelings after my first visit out to the west coast, but I want to squash that notion right now. This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever, ever been, and I don’t know of anywhere else in the country quite like it.

Stunning, off-the-beaten-path elopement locations can be found all across the country. One the best parts of our job is being able to match our couples with a place that has everything they could have hoped for on their elopement day.
